Alec first picked up a guitar at the age of 11 and hasn’t put it down since. Self-taught, he honed his talents by busking on street corners, playing sets in local pubs, and penning original material. It was in 2018 that Alec became the frontman of prominent pop band, New Rules (Modest! Management, Elektra Records). After supporting Little Mix, Julia Michaels, and Picture This, the band has gone on to sell out successive UK and US headline tours, amassing a dedicated global fanbase and an impressive 1m+ social media following, whilst enjoying features in multiple publications including People Magazine, in Wonderland as ‘the next big thing’, and as one of Rolling Stone UK’s ‘highly recommended.’ Alec was born and raised in Welwyn, Hertfordshire. With a Greek Cypriot mother and an Irish Catholic father from New York, there has always been a great emphasis on family, especially with one so large and diverse. Having been raised in a household with seven rescue dogs, Alec joined his family in the rehoming of 1,000 dogs over 5 years under his mother’s foundation, ‘Rehoming Cyprus Dogs’ at the age of 14. Growing up, Alec flourished in all available creative outlets, and was quick to exhibit a natural ability in creative writing, art, and illustration, once pursuing a short-lived desire to become a concept artist.
